Hello, my name is Mario Evyeniou,
Welcome to my Website.
Having heard and played countless bouzoukis in the past, i fully understand a players desire for that true original bouzouki sound.
So with , not only my experience as a hardened player, but as a luthier, my aim is to build the best possible sounding bouzoukis available today.
I generally specialize is high end custom built bouzoukis,
I only use the finest quality well seasoned tonewoods available, which include,
Seven piece laminated necks with wenge or ebony strengtheners.
Rosewood, walnut or cherry bowls, (skafos) either full or partially ornamentated, i mainly use 60 + ribs ( dougies)
For my soundboards i only use master grade spruce.
My fingerboards are all AAA grade ebony.
So with the use of these quality materials , and my own constructon tecniques, my bouzoukis are responsible for sweet, yet high volume tones, their easy playability with soft fast action. Attention to detail is compulsory, and most importantly, i pay extra attention in building a instrument that is to last , so structural integrity is paramount,
I personally hand finish all my instruments using nitro-cellulose lacquer, i then allow the lacquer to cure for 4-6 weeks , after which it is machine buffed to achieve that deep warm luster.
I work on my own and do not mass produce bouzoukis, therefore all my instruments are individually hand crafted.
I am proud to be one of a handful of bouzouki makers worldwide who will give 100% of my attention from the start of construction, right up to the final set up of a bouzouki, which i feel is important to the overall outcome of a particular instrument. To me , its this relationship which is created during the construction process which makes each and every bouzouki personal to me.
Please feel free to email me, with any of your enquiries , as i sometimes have bouzoukis ready for sale, im also happy to discuss with the client about custom designs, and there,re needs in having a bouzouki built to there,re exact specification.
I hope you enjoy the Website.
